President Donald Trump is promising “really big news” in his Thursday primetime speech.

Details on the speech are limited, but Trump said it will focus on “free and fair elections.”

“It’s really big news. It’s really, really big news, and our country has to shape up,” Trump said Tuesday. “What we’re going to talk about Thursday, it doesn’t get bigger because without free and fair elections, you don’t have a country.”

What Will Trump’s Speech Be About?

It’s widely expected that Trump will use the speech to continue to cast doubt over the results of the 2020 presidential election that he lost to former President Joe Biden.

Reuters reported that Trump will talk about “newly declassified intelligence on investigations into U.S. elections and what the White House says are voting machine vulnerabilities,” according to an administration official.

But the White House pushed back on reports about the content of the speech.

“As usual, anonymous sources are speculating about what President Trump will say during his speech on Thursday evening,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement on Wednesday. “The truth is, nobody knows yet what President Trump will ultimately say, which is why everyone should tune in.”

Some Republicans are reportedly worried about what Trump will say.

Following Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, some observers who have closely watched his second term warn he could be preparing to sow doubt over the midterm election results if they don’t go his way.

Trump has made serious efforts since returning to the presidency to revamp elections ahead of the midterms. He recently ousted the last three members of the independent Election Assistance Commission, which assists election administration officials nationwide.

His first executive order on elections, which a federal judge permanently blocked last month, would have required proof of citizenship to register to vote and mail-in ballots to be returned by Election Day. He has also sought to tighten restrictions on mail-in voting, which another federal judge also blocked.

What Time Is Trump’s Speech Tonight?

Trump is expected to deliver the address at 9 p.m. Eastern from the White House.

How to Watch Trump’s Speech

Trump’s speech will be covered by major television networks and will be available streaming on the White House’s website.
