{"id":560,"date":"2026-07-15T10:41:34","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T10:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=560"},"modified":"2026-07-15T10:41:34","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T10:41:34","slug":"goldman-sachs-lawyer-ruemmler-to-face-house-panel-on-epstein","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=560","title":{"rendered":"Goldman Sachs Lawyer Ruemmler to Face House Panel on Epstein"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>NEW YORK, July 15 (Reuters) &#8211; Goldman Sachs senior counsel Kathryn \u2060Ruemmler \u2060will face tough questioning from \u2060members of Congress on Wednesday over her links to Jeffrey Epstein, as \u200blawmakers probe the late convicted sex offender&#8217;s ties with the political and business elites.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=558\">Apple Wins Dismissal of Lawsuit Over Child Sexual Abuse Material on ICloud<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Ruemmler will appear before the \u200cHouse Committee on Oversight and Government \u200cReform as part of its investigation into Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Ruemmler stepped down as \u2060chief legal officer \u2060and general counsel at the\u00a0end of June, pending a replacement, after documents \u200bpublished by the U.S. Justice Department showed she had extensive communications with Epstein and had also accepted gifts from him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Epstein, who died in a New York City prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking \u200bcharges, had extensive ties to many prominent people in politics, finance, academia and business, including \u2060President \u2060Donald Trump. His death was \u2060ruled a suicide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The \u200bhearing has pushed Goldman back into the spotlight over its decision to keep Ruemmler, despite her \u200blinks to the convicted sex \u2060offender.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Goldman Sachs declined to comment.
