{"id":470,"date":"2026-07-09T23:10:58","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T23:10:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=470"},"modified":"2026-07-09T23:10:58","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T23:10:58","slug":"us-ends-probe-into-imported-airplanes-parts-without-seeking-new-tariffs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=470","title":{"rendered":"US Ends Probe Into Imported Airplanes, Parts Without Seeking New Tariffs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>By David Shepardson<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>WASHINGTON, July 9 (Reuters) &#8211; The U.S. \u2060Commerce \u2060Department said on Thursday \u2060it had completed a probe into imported commercial aircraft, jet \u200bengines and parts and found foreign goods raise U.S. national security concerns but \u200cthe Trump administration is not \u200cseeking new tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=468\">US EPA Proposes Easing Biden Heavy-Truck Emissions Rules<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Under heavy lobbying by the U.S. aviation sector, the \u2060Trump administration \u2060agreed to exempt airplanes and parts from tariffs as part of \u200btrade deals after briefly imposing tariffs on aviation last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The report, which stems from a probe opened last year, found the U.S. aircraft industry &#8220;is too reliant on \u200bforeign supply chains, raising national security concerns,&#8221; and cited risks from imported \u2060aircraft \u2060parts because of quality \u2060control and \u200bcounterfeiting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>But U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick recommended that no immediate tariffs be imposed, \u200bthe White House \u2060said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>President Donald Trump directed negotiations with trading partners to address the impact of foreign imports on the health of the U.S. commercial aerospace industry and said he could take action without agreements within six months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;Competitive pressure from lower-cost \u2060foreign suppliers also forces United States firms to keep wages stagnant or \u2060limit hiring, making aircraft manufacturing jobs less appealing compared to other industries,&#8221; the report said.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=466\">Trump Wants to Cut Off Trade With Spain.
