The panel found the law \u2060did not violate \u2060free speech protections under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>NetChoice said \u200bin a statement that the court&#8217;s decision threatens the online privacy and constitutional rights of Ohio residents, but the group &#8220;remains fully confident that this unconstitutional law will ultimately be struck down permanently.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson in a statement said the \u200bdecision &#8220;gives parents the tools to be involved and provide oversight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The ruling comes as governments around the world, \u2060including \u2060in Australia, move to restrict \u2060children&#8217;s access to \u200bsocial media, reflecting growing concern among lawmakers about the platforms&#8217; effect on young people&#8217;s health and safety.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The \u200bOhio case is one of \u2060an array of legal challenges that NetChoice has been pursuing to prevent states from implementing laws the authorities say are needed to protect children from the mental health dangers posed by social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Ohio law, known as the Social Media Parental Notification Act, was passed by the state&#8217;s legislature in 2023 and took effect in January \u20602024, only to be quickly blocked from being enforced by U.S. District Judge Algenon Marbley.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=324\">Texas\u2019s Camp Mystic Had No Evacuation Plans on Night of Deadly Floods, Report Finds<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The \u2060law requires operators of websites that can be reasonably anticipated to be accessed by children under 16 to verify their age.
