{"id":243,"date":"2026-06-03T04:47:59","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T04:47:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=243"},"modified":"2026-06-03T04:47:59","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T04:47:59","slug":"ustr-seeks-comment-on-possible-us-china-tariff-cuts-under-board-of-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=243","title":{"rendered":"USTR Seeks Comment on Possible US-China Tariff Cuts Under Board of Trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>By David Lawder and Ryan Patrick Jones<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>WASHINGTON, June 2 (Reuters) &#8211; \u2060The \u2060Office of the U.S. Trade Representative \u2060on Tuesday opened a public comment process on the &#8220;U.S.-China Board of Trade&#8221; \u200bagreed by the two countries&#8217; leaders last month that could lead to both sides cutting tariffs on some \u200cnon-strategic goods.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=241\">CBS News Fires Scott Pelley From 60 Minutes, Sources Say<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>USTR said in a statement \u200cthat it is seeking input on &#8220;specific types of non-sensitive products&#8221; that could benefit from tariff modifications \u2060on both sides, \u2060with comments due July 10.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The announcement marks an initial step towards implementing \u200bthe Board of Trade body that President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to form at their mid-May summit in Beijing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Officials from both countries described the effort as identifying about $30 billion worth of goods on \u200beach side that could be sustainably traded without crossing national security red lines and qualify for \u2060potential tariff \u2060reductions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The USTR statement did \u2060not mention the $30 \u200bbillion figure but asked U.S. stakeholders to broadly define eligible products.
