But despite the favorable results for the president, dismal <u>approval ratings<\/u> mean the GOP still stands to lose control of the House and Senate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Here are some key election results from each state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2><b>Alabama<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>As expected, the <u>Senate race in Alabama<\/u> will go to a runoff after no Republican candidate won a clear majority of votes. The Trump-endorsed Rep. Barry Moore secured 39.2% of votes and will likely face former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson \u2013 who came in second with 25.6% of votes \u2013 in a June 16 runoff.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Democratic primary for Senate will also go to a runoff between the top two candidates, Dakarai Larriett and Everett Wess.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville won the overwhelming majority of votes in <u>Alabama\u2019s gubernatorial primary<\/u>, while former Democratic Sen. Doug Jones secured the backing of his party. The two will face off in November in a rematch of the Senate contest that Tuberville won in 2020.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2><b>Georgia<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The <u>Republican primary<\/u> to determine who will face incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in November will go to a runoff as expected. Republican Rep. Mike Collins led with 40.5% of votes compared to former football coach Derek Dooley\u2019s 30.2%, but one needs to secure a clear majority for the party\u2019s nomination.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>In <u>Georgia\u2019s gubernatorial race<\/u>, former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms \u2013 endorsed by former President Joe Biden \u2013 won the Democratic primary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Republican primary will go to a runoff after Trump-backed Lt. Gov. Burt Jones barely edged out billionaire Rick Jackson. And in another test of Trump\u2019s influence, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger \u2013 who crossed Trump by refusing to help him <u>overturn the 2020 election results<\/u> \u2013 did not get nearly enough votes to advance to the runoff.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Republicans triumphed in <u>Georgia\u2019s state Supreme Court race<\/u>, where incumbents Charles Bethel and Sarah Warren edged out the Democratic candidates endorsed by former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><svg><\/svg><\/p>\n<p><span>READ: <\/span><\/p>\n<p>States Sue Over New Student Loan Rules<\/p><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2><b>Idaho<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Trump-endorsed Republican Sen. Jim Risch secured 67.3% of primary votes, setting himself up for a potential fourth term. As Idaho is a solidly red state, the winner of the <u>Republican Senate primary<\/u> is said to have a strong advantage in November elections.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/officemovingamerica.com\/?p=13\">Is Trump His Own Worst Enemy on the Economy?<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2><b>Kentucky<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Trump achieved a major victory in <u>Kentucky\u2019s 4th District<\/u>, where his chosen candidate Ed Gallrein swept 54.9% of votes over Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, who frequently broke with fellow Republicans and defied Trump. After the president regularly vilified and berated Massie, the contest became one of the <u>most expensive<\/u> and closely watched primaries \u2013 and proved Trump\u2019s strong hold on the Republican Party.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Rep. Andy Barr, Trump\u2019s pick to <u>replace retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell<\/u>, also emerged successful in the primary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Former state Rep. Charles Booker won the Democratic nomination, though the November race is expected to strongly favor the GOP.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2><b>Oregon<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>In <u>Oregon\u2019s gubernatorial race<\/u>, incumbent Democratic Gov. Tina Kotek will have a shot at a second term after she overwhelmingly defeated her nine challengers in the primary. On the Republican side, state Sen. Christine Drazan emerged successful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>While Kotek is favored for a second term, she only won Oregon\u2019s 2022 governor race \u2013 also against Drazan \u2013 by <u>less than 4 percentage points<\/u>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>A majority of Oregonians also <u>voted against<\/u> a measure that would have hiked the state\u2019s gas tax.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2><b>Pennsylvania<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Democrats in <u>Pennsylvania\u2019s 3rd District<\/u>, which includes most of the city of Philadelphia and is known as the <u>\u201cbluest seat in America,\u201d<\/u> chose the progressive state Rep. Chris Rabb to succeed retiring Rep. Dwight Evans.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Firefighters union chief Bob Brooks emerged as Democrats\u2019 pick to take back the 7th District seat from incumbent Republican Rep.
